We run a Play-School for 24 disadvantaged children from the community. The Play-School develops and stimulates skills for children, preparing them for entry to primary school. We receive positive feedback from the primary schools in the area that our kids are well mannered, disciplined and well socialised. The Play-School is run by members of the community. The children receive breakfast every day as well as a cooked lunch. Our Play-School is situated at 40 Second street, Vrededorp.
“Educational research is notoriously equivocal on almost every aspect of schooling except one – that investments in early childhood education produce durable social and learning attainments into grade school and effectively close the equality gap between middle-class and poor children in a range of educational achievements.”
Prof Jonathan Jansen (former Vice Chancellor of UOFS)
